The Boxer descends from ancient mastiffs (two German mastiff type dogs, the Bullenbeiszer and the Barenbeiszer). The Boxer is a result of the careful selective breeding these dogs and crosses to some other breeds such as GreatDanes and English Bulldogs. The breed was created in Germany in the end of the 19th centuries.
